Blog on hiatus for a bit

In an attempt to focus more on the art aspect of things, and less on the social media management, I am going to pause blog posting for a while. I will still post work over on Instagram.
If you like you can hop over and follow me there:

Everytime I go to Mars...

I stated this one as an abstract sketch, and then once it got done I wanted to try and push it a little more. So I added a bunch of crazy stuff to it, just to see what would happen.
I am working on pieces that can be divided into 3 panels (triptych), they can tell the story when broken up into pieces, or they can be together and still provide an interesting image.
I will be uploading this to the store for sale on Monday. In the meantime, take a look here and enjoy!

My new Red Bubble store!

I am pleased to announce that I have a new red bubble store.
People (from time to time) have asked me if I sell stuff online, and so I figured that I should probably do that. Here you can get ipod covers, shirts, scarves, and more.

Waiting for Rain

Just completed! I have been working on painting clouds and skies and using perspective to give a sense of depth. Painting clouds is pretty tricky, but if you put enough time and patience into it, it pays off.

Ox Knight

Based on a story idea from a fellow painting drama student (Jose-Luis Segura), this recently completed piece is called "Ox Knight". I saw the piece posted on Luis portfolio site and asked if was could collaborate on it together. The result is what you see here. It took about 3 to 4 months to complete as we passed the work back and forth a few times. Ultimately we decided that the attached was finished and done. Much thanks to Jose for working with me on this one.

Headsnack Expoding head logo

My buddy Headsnack is a genius, producer and MC.
You can see his work and listen to his tracks and follow his work here:

I recently decided that I was going to re-work his logo for him because the one that I had done so long ago was just outdated. (Time for a new logo)
So here it is!

Awright...this guy is done. I was going to go with some form of new age folks tale, but then instead I just decided to make it odd and weird by using the fish and having him say something more contemporary. I am a fan of mixing two themes that don't normally go together. I find that I get a lot more interesting ideas come about that way.

What Time is Is--WIP

This is a value WIP for my first painting for the new year. It's called "What time is it"? An idea that I had from a  list of ideas that I keep. The next step is to apply the color and work this to the end.
I'll post the work here as I go along.

Punisher Fan Art

I'm working on a larger piece but in the middle I am going to start doing shorter pieces like this one. A good way to get the fan art bug out of my system while practicing my pshop skills.

Happy 2015!!!! Taking more time to do studies before starting work..

So this year as a means to improve, I am going to take more time to do character studies, composition and perspective studies before actually starting a painting. I feel as if this will only lead to better work and better results. s-l-o-w-d-o-w-n!
Oh and Happy New Year!!!!!!!
